Welsh Cup away day

By Tim Channon on Jul 12, 07 10:45 AM

LLANDUDNO Football Club have been drawn away to Prestatyn Town in the first round of the Welsh Cup.
The Maesdu Park side lost three times to Prestatyn last season, twice in the league as well as in the League Cup, but hope to have a strong squad this season with three new signings expected to play in the opening pre-season friendly against Caernarfon Town this Saturday (2.30pm).
Conwy United and Glan Conwy have both been given home ties and more details are in this week's North Wales Weekly News along with the usual comprehensive round-up of bowls, golf and cricket news.
There is a warning for junior football teams ahead of the new season on the junior sports page (page 87), where pictures feature Colwyn Bay Flyers Under15s girls football team, Llandudno Rugby Club Under-11s, Llandudno Swimming Club medal winners from the Cath Ankers Championship in Wrexham, and players from Llanrwst and Le Sport (Rhos-on-Sea) squash clubs who met in the final of the North Wales Junior Development Squash League.
