Seagulls win on penalties
COLWYN BAY won 4-2 on penalties after losing a 3-0 lead in their Unibond Challenge Cup game at Clitheroe on Tuesday.
They were 2-0 up at half-time through Mark Quayle and a John Lawless penalty, and the side were cruising when Martin Crowder added a third.
But a disputed goal, with Colwyn Bay claiming a foul on keeper Jamie Speare, sparked a Clitheroe fightback and after getting a second they equalised in the third minute of added time.
Another Lawless penalty put Colwyn Bay 4-3 in front in extra time, only for Clitheroe to equalise again just before the end.
But Jamie Speare won the day with two key penalty saves in the shoot-out with Colwyn Bay going through 4-2 thanks to successful spot kicks from Lawless, Anthony Murt, Crowder and Neil Black.
