Nant Conwy progress in North Wales Cup
NANT CONWY ran in eight tries to reach the quarter-finals of the North Wales Cup by ending Bethesda's unbeaten record with a 50-12 victory on Thursday night (Nov 6).
Although Nant got an early try from Carwyn ap Merddyn, Bethesda competed well for half an hour and led 7-5 at one stage with a converted try.
But Nant had taken control by half-time with two quick tries in the last five minutes of the first half, and ran out comfortable winners in the second half.
Skipper Elgan Davies went over for two tries and other try scorers were No 8 Dewi James, scrum-half Osian Roberts, full-back Peredur Elis, flanker Arwyn Jones and prop James Jones.
Llandudno are also in the last eight after their double header win at Bala last weeknd, while Colwyn Bay play at Mold on Saturday (Nov 8).
