Seagulls sign new defender
COLWYN BAY have today (July 20) completed the signing of experienced full-back Gary Scott.
The former Tranmere and Rotherham United defender, who can play right back or left back, had several seasons with Altrincham, making over 300 appearances, and was a contract player with Witton Albion last year.
He played for Colwyn Bay in last week's friendly against Wrexham and manager Neil Young was delighted to be able to tie up the deal this morning.
"He really looked the part against Wrexham and I am delighted he has agreed to sign," commented the manager.
Scott will be in the squad for Tuesday's game at Denbigh (July 21, 7pm kick off) with Steve Aspinall and James Dunne both available again after missing the Altrincham match.
Former Rhyl keeper John Gann will be in goal.
Lee Davey will be missing with a shoulder injury suffered against Altrincham, but x-rays have revealed just bad bruising and he should only be sidelined for about 10 days.
Neil Young says he is likely to start Tuesday's game with lads who have not had much football up to now, but added: "We will probably bring on the cavalry in the second half!"
