Grannon signs for Airbus
COLWYN BAY central defender Danny Grannon has signed for Welsh Premier side Airbus UK.
The defender played a huge part in the Seagulls winning back-to-back promotions and last season was a leading candidate for Player of the Season before injury in March cost him his place in the side.
Danny then missed a big chunk of pre-season due to a three week holiday in the Far East and manager Dave Challinor couldn't promise him a return to the starting line-up.
"I understand Airbus have been able to offer him regular football and it is difficult to stand in his way," reported manager Dave Challinor. "Danny needs to be playing week in and week out and I couldn't offer him that at the moment.
"We wish him luck. I know he has enjoyed the last two years here and I hope that we have helped to make him a better player."
Danny made his Welsh Premier debut as a second half substitute in Airbus UK's 2-2 draw at Prestatyn Town on Friday night.
Meanwhile Challinor says the door is still open for another central defender, Joe McMahon, to return to the squad.
He hasn't trained since the manager was unable to guarantee he would be one of the first choice centre backs for the start of the season, but said this week: "The door is never closed. If Joe wants to come to training and compete for a place he will be welcome."
