Hello, my name is Joel and I'm a Sub-Editor here at the Weekly News office.
This means I, as part of a team, take all the stories written by the reporters and, via computer, put them all on the pages. This encludes ensuring they fit in, the picture is there, there is a catchy headline and none of the story is offensive or legally dangerous.
Once this is done we send it to the printer to be made up into what drops on your doormat or what you pick up at the shop. It's a cross between graphic design and proof reading.
We do a range of North Wales papers here, including the Bangor/Anglesey Mail, Rhyl Visitor, Caernarfon Herald and of course the Weekly News.
I'm in charge of putting together the Bangor/Anglesey Mail, so for me the week starts on Thursday when I make-up all the pages that can be done in advance, things such as entertainment listings and features.
Then from Friday morning until lunchtime Tuesday it's a mad dash to make good all the current and breaking news stories. From here on in I help out on the other papers until Thursday comes and I do it all over again.
In between this I like to try and make work fun (that's half the battle hey) and obviously quench my raging journalistic thirst with copious amounts of sweet tea.
This week has been a good one as we've had some interesting stories to deal with such as the construction of a civilian airport in Anglesey and the outrage at HSBC bank for closing another rural bank in Bethesda.
