By Steve Stratford, News Editor

AFTER last week's depleted Newsdesk, it's ironic that we had a full complement of reporters in this week churning stories out like there was no tomorrow and causing a headache for this particular news editor who has to make it all fit!
The Weekly News is unparalleled in its coverage of the Conwy county area when it comes to community news - proper, grass roots news that matters to the man on the street.
We pride ourselves on representing all of the communities in our area as well as possible, and certainly better than any of our rivals.
How many other newspapers this week will have exclusive stories on plans for a new war memorial in Colwyn Bay, or the mugging of a disabled pensioner from Llandudno Junction, as well as pictures from the Christmas lights switch-on at Llanfairfechan, news of the prosecution of those behind a brothel in Penmaenmawr, the story of a local survivor of the 2004 tsunami raising money for the Red Cross, as well as community-level news such as coffee mornings, club reports, petty crime and Father Christmas events?
And that only scratches the surface of how the Weekly News serves the community. We also have more school Nativity pictures than any other newspaper (and there will be more over the Christmas period).
We have better exclusive competitions than our rivals - this week you can win a bunch of kids' toys for Christmas and some hilarious Mitchell and Webb live DVDs.
We have the very best sports coverage money can buy - whether its local football, rugby, bowls or dominoes, the Weekly News has got it!
So when people tell me "there's nothing in the Weekly News", I get frustrated and not a little annoyed. If only our readers - all 19,000 loyal, paying customers - could see first-hand what effort and love and dedication goes into getting the North Wales Weekly News out every week, they would understand that it is the best newspaper around for news, sport, entertainment and pictures.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again (and not for the last time), but without us, you really are missing something. Something that could directly affect you, and the Weekly News is the best place to find out how.
